The Parfit Archive

Derek Parfit (1942 – 2017) was a British philosopher who specialised in personal identity, rationality, and ethics. He is widely considered one of the most important and influential moral philosophers of the last 100 years.

Upon his death, he left behind thousands of paper sheets—and many hard drives—of philosophical writing and correspondence.

The Parfit Archive will preserve these materials, and make them available for scholarship.

Update March 2023: This project has been put on pause. It will happen eventually, but perhaps not for 1-10 years.

Register your interest to get project updates, and the possibility of early-access to the archive.
